Dundee Rotary Club

Dundee Rotary during a Board Books for Tots Auction collected 113 board books and $100  for the 7 bright red booksheves  that are placed throughout the Dundee area.The bookshelves are maintained by Our Town Rocks and Reads Program.

Watkins-Mountour Rotary Club's Student of the Month

 

Odessa-Montour High School senior Dana Roberts by the Watkins-Montour Rotary Club as its Odessa-Montour Student of the Month for December. Roberts was introduced by teacher and coach Burton Brewster, who described the honoree as "responsible and respectful," and "a genuine person, a person of integrity" always working to improve as a member of the soccer and track teams Brewster coaches. Roberts, a member of the school chorus and band, a veteran theater performer, a two-time member of the Top Drawer 24 team of outstanding student-athletes and last year's Odessa File Odessa-Montour Athlete of the Year, says she is considering attending Bethune-Cookman University in Tampa, Florida.

Watkins Glen High School senior LynnAnn Caslin was honored by the Watkins-Montour Rotary Club as its Watkins Glen High School Student of the Month for December. Caslin was introduced by teacher Sam Brubaker, who called the honoree a "hard-working" and "respectful" student who loves school. She is a member of National Honor Society and captain of the cheerleading squad, with plans to attend Keuka College and study Business Administration with an eye toward a Master's degree and what she said would be her "dream job" -- fraud investigator with the FBI.

 

 

Watkins-Mountour Rotary Club's Student of the Month

    

The Watkins Montour Rotary Club proudly announces their Students of the Month for November 2014.

Odessa-Montour High School senior Manley Gavich was honored by the Watkins-Montour Rotary Club as its Odessa-Montour Student of the Month for November. Gavich was introduced by Principal Chris Wood, who described the honoree as "vibrant, fun and dramatic" -- a student "heavily involved in Fine Arts," including community theater plays. Gavich is president of O-M's Band and Chorus, and a member of Student Council, Art Club and the Principal's Leadership Council. He plans to attend SUNY Potsdam to major in Theater.

Earlier this month, the club honored Watkins Glen High School senior Halle Phillips as its Watkins Glen High School Student of the Month for November. Phillips was introduced by teacher Kelsey Wood, who described the honoree as a person "who rises to every challenge presented to her," as "a phenomenal student," and as a role model for younger students. She also said Phillips is "a genuine person," always smiling, "who follows her own path" and "thinks outside the box," looking at things "from different viewpoints." Phillips, a three-sport athlete (swimming, basketball and golf), is planning a career in the health care field.

 

 

Rochester AM Rotary Club Samaritan House Rescue Shelter service project

The members of the Rochester AM Rotary arrived at 6:00am at the Samaritan House Rescue Shelter to cook, and serve hot breakfasts to the men at the Samaritan Rescue Shelter on W Main St Rochester. Member donations provided the eggs, juice, bacon sausage and grits. Not in photo was Bill Witt, Wayne Davies and Ray Ottman.

Sunshine Kids Gala

The Sunshine Kids Gala is in its 5th year – the Gala is run as a partnership with the Rochester Auto Dealers Association and Rochester Rotary. Each year three awards are handed out; Sunshine Award, Building Bridges Award and Dealer Employee of the Year. This year each award recipient was a Rotarian.
