Looking for a new model of membership - how about creating a model that allows Rotarians to be a part of 2 clubs. Look no further than the Global Travelers E-Club Associate member category. Learn more about how this flexible and forward thinking model has allowed the Global Travelers E-Club to rapidly grow and provide deep connections to service and Rotary. Global Travelers E-Club is growing rapidly and becoming increasingly global. They have members across the United States and are expanding across the globe. This geographic diversity gives them a broader scope and a greater potential for impact, but it also means that their members need to expend some effort to be informed, engaged, and connected.
As a member, new or old, they encourage you to make our mission your mission. They also developed an new membership option called associate membership. Associate membership provides Rotarians a chance to be a part of their community-based club and still participate and travel with the Global Travelers. “I have always had a passion for International Service and Travel. My local club isn't really involved in either, so this was a great opportunity for me to fill that cup,” said Jess Gutzwiler, from the Soldotna Alaska Rotary Club, and an associate member of the Global Travelers. “I love that it allows me to participate in Global Travelers club meetings, socials, and trips without losing the Rotary family I have built here in Alaska.”
Associate members help lead the club and participate in committees and meetings.
Global Travelers is their name and global travel is in their blood. They love to travel. They love to plan trips. They love to learn about new places and meet new people. They love to read about travel. Global Travelers E-Club holds periodic in person social activities and recently close to 40 Rotarians gathered in for a weekend. Members from Virginia, Oklahoma, Florida, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota attended. “I like the efficiency of meeting on zoom and then meeting in person for travel, service events and social events,” said Steve Laible, a Rotary Member of the Brooklyn Park Rotary Club and Associate member of Global Travelers. When Steve joined Global Travelers his spouse Nancy decided to join Global Travelers as a full member, and together they have written several collaborative international grant requests between the two clubs.
Amy Nicholson from Iowa says, “Global Travelers is doing a great job in having associate members have opportunities to be involved, so I really feel like I belong with this club as well as my local club.”
Jess, Steve and Amy are all members of their community-based clubs and associate members of Global Travelers All travel and serve with Global Travelers while being a part of their community-based club.
