Winter Orientation/Ski Weekend

Dear inbound student, YEO, and youth exchange committee,

Included here are details regarding the winter/ski weekend orientation in Steamboat Springs, Colorado  Thurs. January 22nd until Sunday morning Jan. 25th.

Where & when: - Thursday, Jan. 22nd -   Students will need to arrive by 5:00 PM in order to meet their hosting families (drop-off location to be determined)*.  They will have their evening meal with those families.  There will be several students in each home.

Friday the 23rd – Students will be transported to the ski area for a day of skiing or snowboarding.  Equipment and helmets will be provided but students must bring the all their necessary personal clothing and equipment including long underwear, very warm clothing, wool socks, ski mittens and ski googles.  Please ask Rotarians for help outfitting you!

Saturday the 24th – The day includes information about the June bus tour, free time for shopping downtown, some exchange student orientation time, and to the hot springs for swimming.

Sunday the 25th – Students will meet at Holiday Inn 9:00 AM to meet their return ride home.

The hosting Rotary clubs are responsible for providing transportation to and from this REQUIRED event.  YEO’s may wish to coordinate with other clubs in their area to make this happen efficiently.

New student arrivals do need to bring their $485 student fee along with the $180 SEVIS fee.  Checks should be made payable to Cowboy Country Rotary Youth Exchange and can be brought to the inbound orientation and delivered to me or the checks can be mailed directly to our Treasurer, Bobbe Fitzhugh at 873 Esterbrook Road, Douglas, WY 82633.
