My fellow Rotarians,

All of us know that Rotary has incredible potential to do good work.  We are going to do that by ENGAGING ROTARIANS by getting them involved, by getting them inspired, and by making sure that all Rotarians know what gift they have in Rotary.

The goal is to make Rotary bigger, not just with more members but with more involved and ENGAGED and motivated members, who will be the ones to lead us in the future.  We do not just ask anyone to join Rotary.  We are looking to attract successful and motivated people who care.  We ask them to take their valuable time and give it to Rotary.  So, when they join our club, we need to be sure that their time in Rotary is well spent and enjoyable.

I am pleased to report that I had the privilege of inducting twelve new Rotarians at a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of Hicksville South.  As I begin my official visits, I am looking forward to inducting even more new members and inspiring them to be engaged and involved.

Your club can sponsor a new club in your community and also help grow our eClub, which has many advantages to provide access to Rotary for smaller communities, alumni, former Rotarians or people who would like to serve but cannot physically attend formal meetings.  This is crucial so that we reach our goal of 1.3 Million Rotarians, by the year 2015.

During the PETS seminar each incoming president was given an overview of the IGNITE PROGRAM presented and started by RI Director Ken Boyd.  The purpose of which is to IGNITE EVERY ROTARIAN by involving them in one or more Rotary activities.  Everyone has something to contribute to the success of his or her own club, therefore every person has the power to CHANGE A LIFE.  Ask your club president, area governor, or membership chair for more information.
