Rotary Peace Fellows help refugees start over

The crisis in Syria and conflicts in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, and many other nations are producing new generations of refugees, internally displaced persons, and asylum seekers. The number of people forced from their homes by war and conflict has surpassed 50 million for the first time since the end of World War II. Among nearly 900 Rotary Peace Fellow alumni are agents of change who are helping this growing population of refugees.

	For Mitty Chang, Rotaract is just the beginning

	He’s practically a lifer in Rotary – at age 26 Meet an entrepreneur who works with small businesses and nonprofits to build their online identity and brand, and expects “to have a long life in Rotary.” One year ago, Rotary staff caught up with him at the 2014 Rotary International Convention in Sydney, Australia to find out what it means to him to be part of the Rotary family.


	Launch pads

	In Fiji, students use tablets to explore the world Former Rotary scholar Kelsi Cox, a Canadian who studied in New Zealand, led a team that trained teachers and students in how to use the tablets. “These small things hold a world of information, and can take these young people to places far beyond the classroom,” she says.
