Rotary Club of Houston Skyline is holding a publicity event for Rotary that will benefit an American Hero through the works of Helping a Hero.

Sergeant James Wright, a marine, lost both his hands and part of one of his legs while fighting in Iraq.  Funds raised will assist Helping a Hero to convert his home to handicap accessible and our club's foundation work, such as our Garden Project.

Tickets must be purchased in advance through the following link:  http://skyline.eventbrite.com/

The event is scheduled for Thursday night, Feb 4th at 7 pm at Ei8ht on Washington Street in Houston.

Sergeant James Wright, United States Marine Corps (Retired) is a 100% service connected disabled veteran as a result of wounds received during my second tour of combat duty in Iraq.  I am originally from Washington State and I am currently residing in Willis, Texas.

On 7 April 2004 while serving as Assistant Team Leader with Bravo Company 1st Reconnaissance Battalion (USMC) in the Al Anbar province of Iraq, I was hit by a rocket propelled grenade. I sustained severe life-threatening wounds that included the immediate loss of both hands and forearms and an open fracture of my left femur.

Please share with the members of your club.  We hope to have several Rotarians in the crowd to move around with our guests and answer their questions regarding Rotary and our district. Links on the left side provide additional information to promote the event.
