20th Annual Spring Golf Tournament

We invite you to participate in the Rotary Club of West U 20th Annual Spring Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Riverbend Country Club. This year's tournament benefits West U Rotary and the Emergency Aid Coalition Houston. The Emergency Aid Coalition (EAC) is an interfaith organization that collaborates to provide temporary assistance in the form of food, clothing and other basic needs, with an emphasis on serving the working poor.

Tournament Honoree: Dr. Richard Jackson, MD

Every day, more than 550 people come to EAC’s door—either to the Fannin Street Food Pantry and Clothing Center or to the Emergency Food Pantry at the Houston Food Bank (EAC@HFB). In our 32 years, most of the work has been accomplished by volunteers. Six days a week, volunteers and part-time staff operate two locations. Last year, the Fannin Clothing Center distributed 80,000 gently used clothing and hygiene items, and the Fannin Food Pantry distributed 6,500 sacks of groceries and 78,000 sack lunches. Each month, more than 1,800 working poor families shop for groceries at the EAC@HFB program; over 1,000,000 pounds of food was distributed last year. The support of congregations and faithful volunteers makes the EAC mission possible. All proceeds of the tournament will go to the Emergency Aid Coalition Houston and West U Rotary projects.
