Rotary Foundation Month: A Decision Today, A Stronger Rotary Tomorrow

District Governor Jeanette Bancarz invites every club and member to share stories of Foundation impact and invest in dignity, peace, and lasting change this November

My husband, Marc, and I have been thinking about the legacy we want to leave through Rotary. November is Rotary Foundation Month and it gave us the nudge to put our plans in place. We want future generations of Rotarians to have funds to respond to the needs of their communities. It means a great deal to us that a decision we make today can support the work of people we may never meet and improve lives long after we’re gone.

Giving is a personal choice, and every gift matters, whatever its size. If you choose to give, I invite you to consider The Rotary Foundation (TRF).  You can make a gift today or a promise for tomorrow. The Foundation has many giving options; but did you know we have our very own D5370 SHARE Endowment Fund (under Named Funds enter gift ID E22342).  You can contribute any amount to the District Fund or even establish your own named Endowment–SHARE fund with US$25,000. If a future gift is right for you, you might consider a bequest in your will or naming The Rotary Foundation Canada as a life insurance beneficiary.

Marc and I have established our own named Endowment–SHARE fund and made a commitment to give through our life insurance and estate plans. We invite you to join us in supporting the D5370 “2.027 in 2027 legacy campaign”. We will match bequests and other future gift commitments from all D5370 Rotarians up to US$500,000.  Join us in Creating Lasting Impact.
If you’d like to explore a future gift or ask how the match works, PDG Tim Schilds, Endowment Major Gift Advisor, has offered to help. You can reach him at 250-467-3378 or timschilds@telus.net. You can also find giving resources and Foundation Committee information on the District 5370 Rotary Foundation page.

This month, I encourage every club to share a story of what Foundation support has made possible in your community. As you think about what future generations of Rotarians could do for the places we call home.

What legacy do you hope to leave?

Strong Clubs. Meaningful Impact. Peace in Action.
