The Youth Exchange Team invites you to attend a district-wide meeting on youth exchange. The meeting is open to any Rotarian who has an interest in youth exchange, regardless of whether or not your club is currently participating and regardless of your role in Rotary.
We are asking for your input and ideas on the following topics as this will guide decisions made by the team in the hopes of growing youth exchange in D5370:
1. What prevents your club from participating in youth exchange?
2. What keeps your club involved in youth exchange?
3. How should youth exchange expenses be paid?
a. Current model is an upfront fee, of which 50% can be charged to the family at the club's discretion; fee covers majority of expenses including flights, visa and insurance
b. Alternative model is a smaller upfront fee and the flights, visa and insurance costs would be borne entirely by the family
c. Other funding ideas?
d. Should clubs pay for the inbound students' trips? (Note that none of our partner districts pay for inbound student trips - it is entirely the responsibility of the students and families)
e. Should there be district-wide consistency on what clubs versus students and families pay?
There is no need to RSVP. Please use the link above to join the meeting. The format will be the same at each, so it is not necessary to attend both.
