Interact Club for Rutland SS in Kelowna

DGE Bruce Falkins & SD23 Superintendant Hugh Gloster joined many other Rotarians and Board of Education representatives for the installation of a brand new interact club for Rutland Senior Secondary School in Kelowna on 25 February 2014.  There are 15 charter members, all of whom have already been active in the community to get the club going... selling poppies, laying a wreath at the cenotaph, or helping with the Salvation Army Kettle campaign.  Sponsor clubs are the Rotary Club of Kelowna Morningside and the Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo.  Congratulations, and welcome to the wonderful world of Rotary!

Interact Club of the Cascades

On December 19, 2013, DG Darrell Blue attended the meeting of the Upper Kittitas Rotary Club in Cle Elum, WA.  At the meeting he signed the application for the charter of their second Interact club.  For several years, they have sponsored an Interact club in the local middle school and are now adding a second club in the high school.  It is very unusual for a club this small (27 members) to sponsor two Interact clubs.  Although the Interact club is just being formed, the members are already involved in a very impressive number of activities both locally and internationally.

The photo at the top-right shows DG Darrell signing the charter application with club Interact committee chair Jodi Larsen, and to the left a group of the new club members who attended the Rotary meeting.  Notice of acceptance of the club charter was given by Rotary International in early January, and the official "Charter" will be done in mid January.
This is the second Interact club chartered this year, the first being by the Osoyoos club.  At least three other clubs are being planned in the district.
