Patriot Day Flags
Orrville Rotarians welcome, value and appreciate local volunteers and subscribers who have supported its ongoing flag fundraiser, including OHS's National Honor Society members. There were sunny, sultry late summer days when it was time for steadfast Rotarians and community volunteers to set about the task of Patriot Day flag installations, the observance "to honor the value of lives of those we loved and lost, our country's resilience and the strength of the American spirit." The national Patriot Day awareness was initiated in memory of people killed (excluding the hijackers) on September 11, 2001. A solemn observance which also recognizes the courage and sacrifices of the first responders as well as the resilience of the American people in the face of such a tragedy. Patriot Day is a time of reflection, remembrance and unity as the nation comes together to remember those who were lost and those who continue to serve and protect. We Will Never Forget.
