Rotary International has sponsored its Youth Exchange program for 90 years, sending students to foreign countries around the world. Orrville Rotary has sponsored many inbound and outbound exchange students
and is pleased to again participate in the worthwhile program this year by sending a local student to Italy and receiving Andrea Torres from the coastal city of Javea, Spain. Andrea, currently age sixteen and attending Orrville High School, is a member of its cross country team and will be experiencing Red Rider country for nearly twelve months.   In addition to her cross country experiences, Andrea enjoys listening to music, shopping, and spending time with her new friends. Rotarian Justin Haislip, wife Beth and  their two sons comprise Andrea's first host family and have enjoyed apple cider making, the Wayne County Fair, Flamingo Jack's eatery, and her first official cross country meet. Andrea's father, Jaime, is an accountant and restaurateur, her mother, Kika, runs a dental clinic and older brother Jose is also an accountant. Andrea's twin sister Marta is experiencing her own Rotary Youth Exchange year in Thailand.  Exchange students have the opportunity to meet other members of Rotary District 6650 youth exchange program at monthly get acquainted overnighters as well as scheduled Rotary sponsored trips to New York City, Washington DC and the western United States. Please join us in welcoming Andrea to the 'Ville and maybe providing a bit of sympathy for her this winter with the projected biting cold and snow expected in our region as compared to her usual warm coastal weather typical of Alicante province in Spain. Bienvenido, Andrea!
