January 14 meeting

With its mission of providing health care and hope, Wooster's Viola Startzman Clinic serves Wayne County's under-insured as well as the nine percent of the uninsured population.
Having become aware of the need for Orrville area residents to have access to nearby medical and dental services, in 2018 Orrville Rotary Club pledged $50,000 to outfit medical and dental exam rooms at the Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club. With the Wooster Startzman office being the only safety net dental provider, it receives thirty-three calls per day requesting  dental care, the majority of patients being in pain and often on a waiting list. Many of these dental patients can now utilize the services of the Startzman Orrville Satellite Clinic. The two room volunteer-driven clinic is currently open each Thursday for medical care and two days per month for dental care. Orrville Rotary's pledge is funded by various annual local projects, including its  Table for Good event at The Pines each May. Preceding the Startzman presentation by executive director Jaime Parsons,  Lindsay Baumgartner, associate YMCA Orrville Branch Director, was introduced as a prospective member by her sponsor Daphne Silchuk-Ashcraft.
