On Tuesday February 7th, the Orrville Rotary Club had the pleasure of hearing from one of their own Rotarians for the weekly presentation! Kristen Beichler, ER Director for Aultman Orrville Hospital, provided some exciting updates being done at the hospital!
Kristen began in the ER in 2005 and moved to Orrville in 2018. Since then, she has really enjoyed her time in the community and the support our hospital gives to the area. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
In Orrville's Emergency department, the community has access to care 24/7. In 2022, they saw 11,010 visits alone, which is 917 per month! 6% of those were admitted, 5-6% were transferred for a higher level of care, and the rest returned home. They staff with two Registered Nurses (RN) all day, and from 11:00am-11:00pm they staff with an extra RN because that is their busiest time. We are blessed beyond measure to have such a dedicated team of nurses and physicians that truly care about the well-being of our community and the surrounding areas.
The hospital has been working through some updates to the facility to continue creating a high-quality environment for staff and patients. They did a refresh to the Med-Surg unit by replacing beds, flooring, blinds, trays, countertops and much more. Some other updates they did to improve the system they have in place for emergencies, are better exterior signage to assist police and fire in case of emergency. They also did some renovations to the Special Referral Hall similar to what was done in the Med-Surg Unit.
