ROTARY WARMS HEARTS, DONATES COATS
For many years Orrville Rotary has embraced its District 6650 and national Operation Warm initiative. Initially begun in 1998 by Dick Sanford of Pennsylvania and with the help of his Rotary Club, more than 4,000,000 new coats in more than 1,300 communities have been gifted. With the Operation Warm mission statement "to provide warmth, confidence, and hope through basic needs programs that connect underserved children to community resources they need to survive", this year Orrville Rotarians have donated funds and purchased brand new winter coats (made available through Orrville schools referral process) and donated to youth at Orrville Elementary School (OES) and Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club (OABGC). This community outreach is a prime example of the local club once again embracing Rotary International's 2021-2022 presidential theme encouraging all Rotarians to Serve to Change Lives.
