Rotary Scholarship Update
Presenter Alexis Daugherty, a 2021 OHS graduate and recipient of Orrville Rotary's $1000 Four-Way Test scholarship is currently a freshman student at the University of Mount Union majoring in History and minoring in Adolescent to Young Adult Education.  Alexis updated Rotarians about her college endeavors, stating that she was initially worried about how she would adjust to campus life, but has settled in and has already applied to be a campus RA (Residential Assistant), Preview Guide and a Raider Guide, all with the hope to make the Mount Union campus "a better place for everyone". Along with her college goal to "be kind" always, Alexis is in Mount Union's honors program and performs as a Raiders band color guard member.  Having adjusted to being away from home, Alexis admitted to still missing her family and pets including two dogs and two cats.  When asked what the best part of her college experience has been so far, Alexis replied "the nice people I've met on campus and the community of Mount Union".  Orrville Rotary wishes our deserving scholarship beneficiary continued success as she pursues her calling to higher education.
Internal items discussed at today's meeting included the possible 2022 re-boot of Pancake Day, the approval of Steve Lorson's membership application, and the proposed approval of Orrville Rotary's Soup-er-Bowl Tri-Club Challenge to benefit Orrville Salvation Army's Maiwurm Service Center's winter food pantry.
