A Legend of caring. It does take a community to protect its children and the citizens of Wayne County and the Children Services Board has been doing this since 1982.
Wayne County native son Eric Killinger, LSW shared pertinent information concerning the November 2022 renewal levy sought by Wayne County Children Services. Killinger, a social services supervisor with WCCS since 2002 confirmed that the passage of the upcoming levy is a renewal of its initial 2003 passage and is not increase in revenue from taxpayers. Killinger also gave an overview of WCCS's mission, numerous impactful programs and services by 70 full-time and two part-time staff members, with the largest and most pressing expenditures being for placement costs of children in WCCS custody. Thanks to Rotarian Lindsey Baumgartner in arranging for Mr. Killinger's presentation. In club business and prior to Mr. Killinger's introduction, Kenneth Weaver was ceremoniously installed as new Rotarian by president Rich Corfman and Rotarian Lynn Horner, Weaver's sponsor.
