Facilitating Economic, Residential, and Commercial Growth

OCDC is a public-private community partnership that focuses on advancing, encouraging, and promoting the development of downtown Orrville. It was founded about three years ago by five guys who wanted to see some change and physically do something about that change for our community. Since then, these five guys, Justin Haislip, Jason Groh, Steve Lorson, CJ Handwerk, and Adam Hanzie have taken over operating Home for the Holidays, planned fall and summer events downtown, and are currently assisting with the Union Depot Transformation Project.

This Summer OCDC is hosting Rock the Rails Concerts for the second year in a row, on Friday June 21st and Saturday June 22nd right in the heart of downtown Orrville. They will have Bands, Barbeque, and so much more for a great evening out. Even better, the city plans to repave the parking lot where all of this is set to take place! In the coming months of 2024 and 2025, the city is planning to restore the Union Depot area by adding more green space, as well as shifting the parking and making it more friendly to the bike trail. This will allow for people to come in from all over to enjoy what the city has to offer downtown, and provide a better space for the community to enjoy.

Thanks to OCDC for coming to the Orrville Rotary Club Meeting and giving us an awesome update on everything they have going on here in town. If you are interested in being a part of OCDC, you can participate monetarily, voluntarily, or by attending any of their events! Check out their website at orrvillecommunity.com where you can contact them and keep up to date with their plans.
