Orrville Area United Way and Our commUNITY was the presentation topic of Rotarian Dawn Cazzolli, the non-profit's Executive Director since April 2020. Originally known in Orrville as its "Community Chest", OAUW was founded in 1958 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity. Cazzolli told members that each of 1,800 local United Way agencies are run independently, incorporated separately and led by volunteers who live and work in each community, further noting United Way's business model of "Money raised here stays here." Cazzolli shared the non-profit's Mission Statement of: Orrville Area United Way engages the caring power of our community to create a thriving society. Further, within the community OAUW builds relationships, generates revenue and create impact. The kick-off event for OAUWs 2022 campaign (for 2023 distributions) will take place on August 27th at Orr Park. #commUNITY. Meeting guests included Michelle Wilson, OAUR Executive Assistant, and Linda Runion, official Friend of Rotary member.
