Presenter Maribeth Burns with Orrville Rotary Vice President Rich Corfman, who arranged for and introduced the speaker.
"Growing a Quality Future" was the presentation topic of Maribeth Burns, president of Wayne Economic Development Council, the partnership dedicated to economic development and strategic business growth in Wayne County and Northeast Ohio.  WEDCs primary role is to stimulate new capital investment and job growth through business expansion and attraction initiatives. In her detailed presentation Burns identified WEDCs vision and mission, development partners, state initiatives and local incentives.  The speaker gave positive nods to the Council's guiding executive committee, board of directors and advisory committee moving forward with WEDCs re-focus efforts, strategic planning, economic development and expansion. Proudly sharing that "So far 2022 is off to a good start", Burns invited members to participate in her "cool stuff is made in Wayne County" quiz and thereafter concluded her informative presentation with a Q&A period.  Ann McPeek was a guest of the club and celebrating the first day of her retirement. It was also announced that the club Pancake Day re-boot will take place on April 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church with eat-in or take out serving options available.
