ROTARY CLUB OF YELLOWKNIFE
Weekly Newsletter – January 7

Greeting All Members!  Here’s what we have going on:

Our Weekly Meeting is at the usual place, Explorer Hotel, Kat C Room
  • January 15 – Let Emilie know about your attendance at the "Me and Rotary" workshop in Yellowknife.
  • February 14 - Rotary workshop "Me and Rotary" in Yellowknife on Sat Feb 14th (8:30am-4pm).
This training helps Rotarians gain Rotary knowledge, a perspective about where Rotary has been, where Rotary is now and a vision of what Rotary can be in the future. The workshop is participative, interactive and fun with lots of discussion. All Rotarians benefit, whether new or long term members and it is a great way to learn more about Rotary in a condensed time frame.
  • February 23-27 – Tiptoe Thru the Caribou, see Emilie if you want to help, need billets for three nights only - Feb 23-26
  • June 6-9, 2015 – Rotary International Convention in Sao Paulo, Brazil, meet Rotarians from around the world.  Check out details from Rotary International and register:  http://www.riconvention.org/en/2015/Pages/ridefault.aspx

  • Oct 1-4, 2015 – District 5370 Conference in Dawson Creek – Guest Speakers: Col. Chris  Hafield, Alvin Law, Sally Armstrong

Seniors Bingo is run by Rotary Volunteers on Tuesday Nights at 7-8 PM. Our schedule is the months of February, April, June, August, October and December.  If you would like to participate, please contact Dale Crouch.

The Interact Club of Ecole St. Patrick High School meets (most) Wednesdays at noon. All Rotarians are welcome! Call Catherine Coolen to confirm time and location 873-4888.

Chris Williams needs suggestions for Speakers – either a member of the community, a guest from out of town, or even yourself (for a classification talk or a topic of interest to Rotary)

If you have news or updates on a Rotary event, let me know.

Yours in Rotary,
Wayne Overbo
