There are many smiles underneath those face masks.

A work party of 11 got to folding hundreds of donated shirts recently for shipping to Africa.

International Services Director Jan Larsson headed up the effort, which involved sorting, folding and weighing almost 900 uniform shirts deemed as surplus by the Territorial Government and donated to the Club with the stipulation they not be distributed locally as they had certain GNWT markings on them.

This made it the perfect opportunity for a Rotary Club, as in addition to helping their local communities, the organization is dedicated to causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world.

Larsson contact the Rotary Club of Highlands, Harare, Zimbabwe, who will receive the shirts and ensure they are delivered to seniors who need them.

The packing was done last week at Best Movers, which will take the shipment to Edmonton. From there the container will head to Toronto and shipped overseas.

The entire cost for the club came in at $4,500.
