ROTARY RADIO DAYS FAST APPROACHING!!
Yes, that is right.... ROTARY RADIO DAYS is only 22 DAYS AWAY until we are on the air at CJCD. Come on Rotarians, we are far from our ad selling goal this year!! As of today's date, we have 16/100 ADS SOLD and produced. That means we have ONLY 13 DAYS LEFT to sell the REMAINING 84 ADS and get them to Ken Woodley or Wayne Guy.
Rotary Radio Days is the one of the MAJOR FUNDRAISERS that the Rotary Club of Yellowknife participates in every year. From this money we use it help in our Snack Program, Polio Plus, Seniors Programs, our Centennial Park development, Canada Day Parade, varioius Youth Programs such as RYLA, RYPEN, Don Cardinal Scholarship, Exchange Student, Tip Toe Through the Caribou, Northern Experience, and so on.
So as you can see, if we as Rotarians cannot take the time to get out and sell the ads that were given to us, then some of these programs cannot take place in the following year. Which is really not fair to an eager incoming President, but it is the hand he or she is dealt.
Often, I think I am too busy to get out and sell ads, or roses or read to a buddy, or go to Senior's Bingo, or take a billet.... that someone else will do it. Unfortunately, if I keep thinking that way, pretty soon everyone will be thinking that way and then nothing gets done.
So like our President has been asking us, LETS TAKE THE SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO PICK UP THAT PHONE AND SELL THESE ADS, GO AND SEE YOUR PEOPLE ABOUT THE ADS, AND LETS GET THESE LAST 84 ADS SOLD BEFORE FEBRUARY 13!!
Remember if you want to help with production days, there are 2 Sundays left for that on February 10th and 13th to help write and produce the ads. And if you are really eager and like to talk about Rotary (it really is quite easy) come and sign up to be on the radio for 1/2 hour on Tuesday, February 26!!
