Roxanne Dreilich spoke to the Club about G Division's community outreach -- including a polar plunge on May 16 at Long Lake. It's a fund raiser for NWT Special Olympics. SPONSOR Jim Corkal or Paul Falvo -- as we were gullible enough to sign up!
You know her as the voice of RCMP, in the newspaper and on the radio. Roxanne Dreilich spoke on April 2 to Yellowknife Rotary about G Division's community outreach work. This includes organising hardy souls to take what will hopefully be the first outdoor dip of the year, into Long Lake on May 16, as a fund raiser for NWT Special Olympics. It's all part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, and for a great cause.

Special Olympics is a dynamic, world-wide charitable organization dedicated to providing sports training and competition for people with an intellectual disability. Special Olympics athletes attain more than just sport skills through their involvement; they also develop social skills, learn about sportsmanship and camaraderie, as well as gain independence in everyday living.

Jim Corkal and Paul Falvo were manly, er ... gullible enough to take Roxanne up on her challenge! You can sponsor Team Rotary (cheques to 'Special Olympics NWT,' tax receipt for donations of $25 or more). Your prayers will also be appreciated. Let's hope the ice is gone by then!
