S4TL- Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders

The Seminar for Tomorrow's Leaders or S4TL  is a powerful leadership training program for high school students. It is organized annually by a board of directors of Rotarian senior staff from Districts 6890, 6950 and 6960 in mid-Florida. This award-winning program is capable of transforming the lives of these young leaders.  Approximately 200 Rotary sponsored delegates from more than 130 high schools participate in this program.  Each Rotary club in the three districts may sponsor a delegate to the sessions.

Daily activities includes exciting lectures, discussions and demonstrations of those principles which enable an indivdual to lead others.  One unique feature of S4TL is the "rap sessions" where the leaders of tomorrow are divided into groups of 16-18 delegates. They meet with 1-2 Rotarians from the sponsoring clubs to discuss topics of interest to them. No holds are barred, and both groups learn from one another.

High school students attending the SEMINAR FOR TOMORROW'S LEADERS are challenged to utilize all available skill, knowledge, talent, expertise, and intelligence toward specific goals and objectives. The ultimate objective/goal of S4TL is for each student to leave the Seminar with a new awareness of himself/herself, and be more finely tuned to utilize their God-given abilities to serve others in leadership capacities throughout life.

The SEMINAR FOR TOMORROW'S LEADERS is composed of first year Rotary sponsored delegates, second year delegates called Junior Staff Leaders, and third year delegates called Non-Rotarian Senior Staff. DELEGATES are the high school students Rotary Clubs send to the Seminar. Only those delegates selected for Junior Staff may return for a second year.  The Seminar Director and the Rotarian staff choose JUNIOR STAFF LEADERS from the previous year's delegates. Selections are made based on having demonstrated outstanding leadership skills warrenting an invitation to participate for a second year.

NON-ROTARIAN SENIOR STAFF members are chosen from the previous year's Junior Staff Leaders. The ROTARIAN SENIOR STAFF is comprised of dedicated Rotarian volunteers and their spouses.

Each year a delegate is sponsored by Plant City Rotary Club.  This delegate is selected from Plant City High School after being interviewed by our club.  With all the bad news we hear in the news, it is comforting to see the caliber of students that will be in leadership positions in the future.
