S4TL is a leadership training program for high school students. It is organized annually by Rotarian senior staff from Districts 6890, 6950 and 6960 in mid-Florida. This award-winning program is capable of transforming the lives of these young leaders.  Each Rotary club in the three districts may sponsor a delegate to the sessions
One unique feature of S4TL is the "rap sessions" where the leaders of tomorrow are divided into groups of 16-18 delegates. They meet with Rotarians to discuss topics of interest to them. No holds are barred, and both groups learn from one another.

Our club is proud to sponsor a local high school to attend this program each year.  This year's participant was Shelby Baerwalde.  Shelby recently attended our club meeting to talk to us regarding her experience.

Upon arrival at S4TL, I was bombarded by people in red and white shirts screaming at the vehicle and I wasn't sure how to react. The one question people kept asking me was "Do you have any idea what  to expect this week?" Honestly, I had no clue what to expect. I knew it was a leadership camp, and I needed new skills if I was going to be the the Student Body President.
My experience at S4TL has been LIFE-CHANGING. It sounds cliche, but it truly was the best camp I've ever attended. It is something you can't describe to someone who hasn't been there. In order to change what is going on with the world, you need to start with tomorrow's leaders. This camp is helping us become a better generation. From this camp I have gained life-long friendships and a drive to change my generation. In addition, I have a new set of skills that I will bring back to the other leaders at my school so we can make positive changes.
Thank you so much Plant City Rotary for sponsoring me to go to S4TL. I strongly encourage you to attend a Rap Session next year. With my new knowledge and skills, I promise to make you proud!

Sincerely,
Kiera Davis
