Hali Talkington Reflects On S4TL

Hali Talkington was our club's representative to S4TL at Forida Southern. Recently Hali attended our meeting to tell us about her experiences there. I asked Hali to share her thoughts about her participation in the program. The following information was provided by Hali in response to my request.

S4TL is a week-long leadership conference at Florida Southern College in Lakeland and it is only for incoming seniors. The goal of this seminar is to allow you to embrace your leadership skills as well as who you are so that others may look upon you as an example. With a different motivational speaker each day with each a different message we were able to take their words and use them in our "journey" to become better leaders.

My favorite message was from the speaker Tim Cusack; "Don't be afraid to ask for help. A good leader is not scared to admit they do not know something and seek answers for it." I encourage Rotary to continue to support this program for years to come because it really is a great experience and everyone should have a chance to attend.

Thank you Rotary for allowing me to take this opportunity which showed me the leadership skills I never knew I had.
