Water Project Update

"Dear Thailand Water Project partners: The Engineers Without Borders - Case Western Reserve University (EWB-Case) assessment visit to Northern Thailand was successfully completed earlier this month and the students have returned home safely. The EWB students and their professors traveled to Chiang Mai from March 5th - 14th to gather technical data and establish relationships with local community leaders and faculty at Chiang Mai University. The students plan to begin the construction of the water system at the Piang Luang School site in July/August 2010. The students worked closely with Chiang Mai North RC, local government and school administration leadership in identifying the solutions to the water crisis at the Piang Luang School. A variety of solutions have been proposed and are being analysed by the students and their professors in collaboration with engineering faculty from Chiang Mai University. Piang Luang is one of four rural schools which will benefit from the RF Matching Grant. The water systems are projected to be fully implemented in 2010.
