"In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years." Abraham Lincoln
Spring is just around the corner and our club has a number of activities lined up over the next few weeks.
Last Wednesday we had the opportunity to have as our speaker Bill Sheffer of the Grand Old Army of The Republic Museum in Northeast Philadelphia, the best kept secret in the area. Two days ago we heard from Jennifer Nelson who did her classification talk and committee chair reports. We follow up on Thursday March 26th with our Camaraderie for a Cause at The GreyStone Fine Food and Spirits located on Washington Crossing Road in Newtown from 5:30-7pm. Our non profit spotlight is Shop with a Cop. We ask those members and guests who attend to please register prior and bring at least $10 as a donation.
On Saturday March 28th, the club will have their 5th annual Easter Egg Hunt behind Goodnoe Elementary School. The event starts at 10:15am and if there is inclement weather it will be held the next day Sunday March 29th starting at 2pm. This is a well attended event and a number of Rotarians will be volunteering their time.
Also on Saturday March 28th, the club will be sending to Rotary Leadership Institute at DeSales University in Center Valley 7 members including our District Governor Kyle Davis, President elect Shikha Prasher, Wendy Robson, 3 Next Gen members including Tom Minutella, Kira Altomari, Katherine Craig and yours truly.
On Wednesday April 1st lunch meeting we will have a Health & Wellness Seminar run and facilitated by fellow members Cathy and Jerry Agasar. We all want to be at the top of our game and live long and healthy lives.
Please be aware as of the April 1st meeting our club will revert back to lunches on the first 3 Wednesdays of the month at the American Legion and our C4C the 4th Thursday of the month. Please make every attempt to pre-register prior to the lunch so an accurate count of those attending can be provided for Joe Garvey and his staff. Lunch is always $16.00.
Lastly, the ticket office for our 5th annual Hope on The Vine, the greatest event in 18940 on Friday April 24th is open. A major shout out to Stephanie Eubanks and her committee preparing what will be another outstanding evening for our club and visitors/guests. Please refer below to all the events listed in the newsletter.
Our club continues to raise the bar in the community we serve. Service above self.

President, Rotary Club of Newtown, District 7430
***IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING DINNER MEETINGS!***
The Board has made a unanimous decision to Eliminate Dinner Meetings from our schedule and go back to Lunch Meetings only the first, second and third Wednesdays of each month effective April 1, 2026. They will still be held at the American Legion from 12:15-1:30pm and will still cost $16. Our C4C's will be unchanged on the fourth Thursday. This decision was made based on analysis of our attendance at Dinners and the fact that, at times, we didn't have the minimum attendees required and had to pay Joe Garvey for empty seats.
If a month has an "extra Wednesday", we will plan a fun event / dinner etc to keep our momentum going! Stay tuned for that. Thank you very much!

This week's Bulletin finds Ginny in Norway representing the Newtown Rotary Club under the Northern Lights and impressively, at the northern most McDonald's on the planet located in Tromso, Norway! Who knew how far north our Club's reach could go!? Thanks to Ginny, very far north! I wonder if the hamburgers taste the same? A question for Ginny upon her triumphant return to our meetings. Then Ginny found herself at the White Cliffs of Dover where a wild wind storm couldn't stop her from representing Newtown Rotary Club! Way to go, Ginny! Where will Ginny go next? Stay tuned to a future "Rotary Spotlight" to find out! Safe travels home - we miss you!
Rotarians Learning A "Best Kept Secret"
The Newtown Rotary Club was proud to welcome a wonderful guest speaker at our Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, March 11th. This wonderful guest speaker was none other than Bill Sheffer who led a fascinating conversation about one of Philadelphia’s best-kept secrets, the Grand Army of the Republic Museum. Bill shared the history and significance of this unique museum dedicated to Civil War veterans. The discussion offered insight into an often-overlooked piece of Philadelphia’s cultural and historical heritage. We were thrilled to host Bill as he is a well respected member of our community from his past experience as President of the Newtown Business Association and a senior leader at First National Bank & Trust Company of Newtown. We thank Bill for the gift of his time and experience and we encourage you to check out the Grand Army of the Republic Museum at this link: https://garmuslib.org/.
Rotarians Learning About New Members!
During our Lunch Meeting on March 18th, we had the wonderful opportunity to hear Jennifer Nelson deliver her Classification Speech. She is a highly accomplished educator, journalist and ghost writer! She fielded a lot of questions, it was a great experience. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, Jennifer! We also enjoyed many Committee Report Outs as we are entering another "busy season" with our Easter Egg Hunt, Annual "Hope On The Vine" Fundraiser, Road Clean Up, Spring Food Drive, Student of the Month Recognition, Pedals for Progress- WOW - this is just a sample of the good work our Newtown Rotary Club does for our community, country and world! Service Above Self indeed!

New Meeting Location!
Due to the Garden of Eatin' curtailing their hours, henceforth we will meet at Maryann's Homestyle Cooking at 1263 Woodbourne Road, Levittown PA 19057. This is a 2 blocks south of Garden of Eatin' on the opposite side of the road. OG Levittown-Fairless Hills members will remember that this was the original location of the GOE, and that we met there for years. So it's a little like coming home, but with someone else's furniture. Since this week's meeting never took place we're going to meet this coming Tuesday at 7:30AM. After that, we'll go back to our 1st and 3rd Tuesday schedule starting on 3/3.
Cathy & Jerry Agasar, of Agasar Family Wellcare at Inner Spa, will share their thoughts and guidance to help us optimize our health and meet our wellness goals! Agasar Family WellCare provides holistic wellness services focused on digestive health, detoxification, and whole-body balance. The center emphasizes personalized, preventative care that helps individuals feel better, function better, and take an active role in their long-term health and we are grateful that they will share their wisdom with us!
