Greetings fellow Rotarians,

I cannot tell you all enough how excited I am to see the growth of our Rotary club and for so many of our members getting involved with our projects, events and serving on committees. I am fully committed to helping our club continue its growth and paving the way for our future. Speaking of which, some of you will be surprised to hear that I have officially started President elect training because I was unable to do it last year due to my campaign… This past Thursday night I spent 2 1/2 hours with other local president elects, current presidents, district rotary trainers and our 23/24 district governor elect… I have learned so much and i’ve gained so much more insight and a few new ideas are brewing. My wheels are spinning… So stay tuned for more exciting details.

At last weeks lunch, we had 30 attendees and a terrific speaker from the neighborhood outreach foundation, so exciting to hear other local organizations helping people in need right here in our own backyard.

Congratulations to Dr. Jerry Agasar and ALL of the volunteers for an amazing pedals for progress collection… As most of you know this is our 20 year anniversary of collecting used bicycles and sewing machines for those in need worldwide.

I would also like to recognize one of our long-term Rotary members and his lovely wife… Alan and Betty Fidler will be receiving the Sydney T. Yates award. This award will be presented to them for their many years of vision and support to Pickering Manor, it’s residents, the people of Newtown and its surrounding communities at the annual “sips and suds” gala to be held at rafters on November 12th.

I hope we are able to keep our lunch attendance momentum strong as we have another great guest speaker coming up this Wednesday at the Temperance House at 12:15 PM… Please remember lunch is $17 per person and as always, please bring a guest and continue to spread the word that “WE ARE” ( see what I did there RICK ) people of action. 👍
