The Newtown Rotary Club is completing another year participating Rotary International's Youth Exchange Program, the worlds largest educational exchange program for high school students with a goal to  Support International Peace and Understanding.  For over 75 years, the countries have exchanged students to enable them to learn new ways of living, experience new cultures and learn more about themselves.  Each year, over 8,000 students from over 80 countries participate in the program.  As an exchange program, participating clubs are asked to both and exchange Imagestudents.

During the 2011-2012 school year, our club sent a student from Council Rock North, senior Seth Novick to Slovakia, while hosting Merry Wiyo, a junior from Thailand.  Back after as year in Spain was last year's outbound student, senior Leigh Brownell.  During the coming year, our club will be both sponsoring Katie Prell, who is currently 16 and will be spending her junior year in Lima, Peru.  In exchange, we will be hosting Pauline Pasquier, a 17 year-old from Neuille Pont Pierre, France, a town of 2,000 southeast of Paris between Tours and Le Mans.  Katie's family will be Pauline's first host family.
