Lunch Meeting - Speed Dating!

Please join the Newtown Rotary Club for our Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, September 2nd from 12:15-1:30pm at the American Legion.  We've brought back a fan favorite in "Speed Dating" hosted by Shari Donahue.  We are bringing it back again since we ran out of time the last time we did this!   A Buffet Lunch catered by Joe Garvey will be served so bring $16 and be prepared to learn a lot about your fellow Rotarians and Guests which will surely generate a lot of energy and laughs!!

Brunch at the Homeless Shelter

The Newtown Rotary Club will be hosting and serving Brunch at the Bucks County Homeless Shelter in Levittown, PA on Saturday, September 5th from 9:00am - 12:00pm.  We are looking for volunteers to help us with this event so please sign up if you can!  This will be a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate Service Above Self.  Please contact Paul Salvatore for additional details at salvatorepaul@hotmail.com.  Thank you!

Book Club - "Kin" by Tayari Jones

Please join the Newtown Rotary Book Club as we read "Kin" by Tayari Jones.  This is a magnificent new novel from the bestselling, award-winning author of An American Marriage.  Tayari Jones has written an unforgettable novel that sparkles with wit and intelligence and deep feeling about two lifelong friends whose worlds converge after many years apart in the face of a devastating tragedy.  The Book Club will meet on Sunday, September 20th from 3:00-5:00pm.  Location details to follow.  All are welcome so please join us!

Camaraderie for a Cause! - Special Equestrians

Join the Newtown Rotary Club for an evening of friendship, community, and giving back as we come together to support Special Equestrians!  Our September "Camaraderie for a Cause" will take place on Thursday, September 24th from 5:30-7:00pm at LaStalla.  Special Equestrians has an incredible mission: to improve the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals with disabilities through the equine experience.  Come out, enjoy some camaraderie, meet members of our community, and help us support an organization that is truly changing lives.  Bring $10 and a bunch of your friends and be prepared for a great evening!  Good friends. Potential Car Show - Rotary Table

Potential is celebrating the 10th Annual Car Show & Family Fun Day for Autism during their 20th anniversary year — and we’d love to be part of it!  The Newtown Rotary Club will have a table at this event and would love to have a great group of volunteers to help create awareness for our Club, hand out our famous rubber ducks and interact with the community as we support this wonderful cause.  Thank you in advance for signing up!  Details to follow when you do.  Thanks!

Newtown Market Day - Rotary Table!

Newtown Market Day is one of our community's signature events, bringing thousands of visitors to town for a day of history, shopping, entertainment, and local charm. Hosted by the Newtown Historic Association, it's a wonderful opportunity for Newtown Rotarians to give back by volunteering and helping make this beloved tradition a success.  Please consider volunteering at our Rotary Table located right in front of the Newtown Library on Centre Ave.

Lunch Meeting - "Plane Pull" Planning

The Newtown Rotary Club will hold it's Lunch Meeting on Wednesday, October 7th from 12:15-1:30pm at the American Legion.  This week, we will focus our efforts on preparing for our Special Olympics "Plane Pull" fundraiser!  Co-Chairs Francis Lusardi and Paul Salvatore will share the plans, teams and outline what we need from membership to make this a truly fantastic and successful fundraiser for such a worthy cause!  Bring $16 for a Joe Garvey lunch and join us!

Special Olympics "Plane Pull" Fundraising Event
Oct. 10, 2026 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Please join "Plane Pulling Team" as either a team member or spectator at this very fun, unique and meaningful fundraising event to beneft the Special Olympics.  The event takes place at the Lehigh Valley Int'l Airport located at Postal Road, Allentown PA.  

Event Schedule:

  • 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. – Plane tours
  • 10:00 a.m. – Plane Pull competition begins
  • 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Food trucks, music, vendors, and family activities
  • Gates open for spectators: 10:00 a.m.

Parking: Available at the B. Braun facility directly across Postal Road from the FedEx Air Cargo Apron. Event signage will direct you to parking.

If you're pulling with a team, organizers ask participants to arrive at least one hour before their scheduled pull time. Your team captain should have your specific time slot.  If you're attending as a spectator,we recommend arriving around 9:45–10:00 a.m. so you can see the opening pulls and enjoy the festivities.

Pedals for Progress
Oct. 17, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Please join the Newtown Rotary Club for our annual Pedals for Progress Service project!  On Saturday, October 17th, we will set up in the parking lot across the street from the Olde Church of Saint Andrew located at 135 S. Sycamore Street from 9:00am - 12:00pm.  During this time, we will be collecting adult and kids bicycles and portable sewing machines to send to developing countries around the world.  These items will enable education and vocation for families in these countries.  Bicycles allow students to get to school and adults to get to their jobs - things that we take for granted here in the United States.

Book Club - "Empty Mansions"

Please join the Newtown Rotary Book Club for our October Book Club meeting to be held on Sunday, October 18th from 3:00-500pm!  Our October pick, "Empty Mansions", tells the true story of Huguette Clark, an intensely private heiress who inherited one of America’s great fortunes but lived in near-total seclusion. Though she owned lavish, long-unoccupied mansions, she spent her final decades in a modest hospital room while giving away millions to caregivers, friends, and institutions. The book explores her eccentric life, complicated family legacy, and the mystery surrounding the handling of her vast wealth.  Locations detals coming shortly and all are welcome whether you've read the book for not!

Halloween Parade "Children's Fun Fest"!
Oct. 24, 2026 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The Rotary Club of Newtown’s 1st Annual Children’s Fall Fest will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM at Brian Gregg Park, immediately following the Newtown Halloween Parade award ceremony. The family-friendly event will feature children’s music and activities, balloon sculptures, pumpkin decorating for the cure, a spider craft table, and a popcorn station. It promises an afternoon of fall fun, music, treats, and family memories while supporting a community-focused Rotary initiative. We will have a table at the event and could use volunteers to help with the activities as needed.  Please join us and / or volunteer at what will surely be a recurring community event for our Club!

Fall Food Drive 2026!
Nov. 07, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Please join us for our Fall Food Drive to benefit Wrightstown Food Pantry!  The event will take place on Saturday, November 7th at McCaffrey's from 9:00am-3:00pm and then a team will immediately transport the food to the pantry from 3:30-4:00pm.  This is a cherished Service Project for our Club under Shari Donahue's leadership so please sign up and volunteer!.  It's a lot of fun and makes such a huge difference in our community!

Pancake Breakfast
Nov. 15, 2026 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Please join us at the American Legion on Sunday, November 17th from 9:00am - 12:00pm for our annual "Pancake Breakfast" which will be served up by Joe Garvey!  This is a wonderful family event where everyone can enjoy a delicious home cooked breakfast for a great price.  The more the merrier!  Tickets are $12 per person or $30 per family (kids under 5 eat for free!) and can be purchased in advance using the QR code in the attached visual -be sure to type "pancake" in the memo.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Mark Craig at macraig@erols.com.  See you there!
