New Fireworks Display Debuts Friday

The Hillsborough Rotary Club will be holding its seventh annual Hillsborough Rotary Fair on Tuesday, August 12th through Sunday, August 17th at the township field adjacent to the Lowes Hillsborough Promenade (315 Route 206 in Hillsborough).  A six-day carnival that attracts approximately 15,000 people each year, the Fair is one of the Township’s largest and most popular annual community events. Fair proceeds go directly to support a variety of Hillsborough community organizations and projects. Audio Café of Hillsborough is the sponsor of this year’s Rotary Fair.

“The Hillsborough community has both supported and appreciated the Rotary Fair since its inception,” noted Anthony Franchini, Hillsborough Rotary Club president.  “With some new attractions this year, we hope to surpass our past success.”

The Rotary Fair will feature 21 amusement rides by Majestic Midway Amusements, games by Paladin Amusements, a DJ, a wide selection of food, displays by area vendors and a petting zoo.  Featured rides include the Himalayan, Bumper Cars, Ring of Fire, Super Shot, Sizzler, Zipper, Carousel, Kite Flyer and many more. This year, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday will be pay-one-price wristband nights.  The Fair will also include nightly entertainment and special demonstrations.  The 101.5 New Jersey radio station host, Ray "The Prize Guy," will appear live at the fair on Friday night.

A fireworks display by Interstate Fireworks is being added to the Fair on Friday evening, August 15, at approximately 9:30 pm (rain date of Saturday August 16).  Brad Benson Hyundai and Unity Bank will sponsor the fireworks display.

Fair proceeds go to support the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible van , which was donated to Hillsborough Township, as well as The Hillsborough Food Pantry, Autism New Jersey, and Hillsborough High School scholarships, among others.
