Our community needs your support. The Hillsborough YMCA, a branch of the Greater Somerset County YMCA, is a trusted distribution site for food security boxes. The Hillsborough YMCA will distribute food security boxes every Monday during the COVID-19 pandemic. This past week, in partnership with Community Food Bank of NJ, the Rotary Club of Hillsborough and Hillsborough School District, the YMCA distributed 206 boxes serving a total of 399 Hillsborough residents facing food insecurity challenges. Each box is intended to provide enough food for seven days.

The YMCA was recently alerted by the Community FoodBank of NJ that they are having challenges sourcing food—an increasingly common challenge across the country. Therefore, we are calling upon our community to help our neighbors in need. If you wish to help in these challenging times, you can do so by assembling a food security box/bag that can be handed to families in need. Please follow the link below for a list of the items needed in each box/bag and to register the boxes/bags you will be able to contribute.  Information regarding the drop off procedures is included as well.

Those who can help  have the YMCA’s and your neighbor’s most sincere appreciation.
