On Wednesday, November 20, 2013 the Hillsborough Rotary Club held the awards ceremony for the Veterans Appreciation Day. The event was sponsored by District 7510. Numerous Rotary Clubs, along with personal and business sponsors made the day very successful. District Governor Tulsi Maharjan presented certificates to the sponsors who attended the ceremony.
The sponsors receiving certificates from District Governor Tulsi were; Hillsborough Rotary Club, Piscataway Rotary Club, Westfield Rotary Club, Innovative Mfg., Audio Cafe, Central Jersey Regional Airport, 911 Septic Pumping & Repair, and Hesco Electric.
The two most important recipients were Operation Shoebox and Operation Chillout. Operation Shoebox received $4103.80 and Operation Chillout received $2703.80. This is small amount of money for two groups that are picking up where the federal government stops. All of the citizens of this great country need to keep these two organizations in our hearts and minds and support their efforts whenever possible. DG Tulsi is predicting over 4000 participants next year including Rolling Thunder.
