2016 The Honey Bee Project
It's hard to believe, but over 1 year ago Hillsborough Township and the Hillsborough Rotary Club discussed honey bees and the idea of creating a sustainable agricultural project. Honey bees became that project and the Hillsborough Rotary Club accepted the challenge.
Countless hours were spend developing the project, learning abouit honey bees, site location, funding and who would become our partner to maintain, manage and produce honey to sell to the public. .
Boy Scout Troop 1776 seized the opportunity and have been working with Hillsborough resident, Rotarian, & honey bee keeper Frank Martin.
I am happy to inform our followers the honey bees have arrived and now reside in Ann Van Middlesworth Park The project is not complete and ongoing construction and informational signs will be coming in the near future.
