Joe Kelley reported that we have $600.00 toward the purchase of a shelter box.  We still need $400.00.

We were fortunate to have William White and Christopher Murphy with us to present a program about their organization, Road To Responsibility.  Road To Responsibility is the premier service provider on the South Shore for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  This is an organization that helps disabled individuals who have no where else to turn, and have exhausted all other possibilities for assistance.  They have an extraordinarily successful program assisting people with disabilities to find employment.   it seems that they manage their assets well, as only 7% of their monies go to administrative costs.  As government aid to these types of organizations decreases, the need for personal charitable gifts from the private sector increases.   Their annual fundraiser is on November 18, 2011 at Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston.  For tickets or information, call Kara Malone at 781.536.3219.

Bob Price won the raffle, but alas, he did not find the queen.

Next Wednesday, October 26, we will be hosting our District Governor, William Vangel, at our weekly meeting.  As well, he will be present at the 5:45 pm board meeting.

Respectfully submitted,

Lois Brandes
