Joe Kelley brought us up to date on The Veterans' Advisory Council.  Please join Joe and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts on Saturday, May 5th, in preparation for Memorial Day.  They will be replacing the worn flags on veterans' graves.  Please see Joe to help with this project.  The American Legion will be represented at the Scituate School Committee Meeting on May 5th at 7:00 p.m.  Please consider attending.  Also, there will be a reading at Town Hall of the names of all Scituate Veterans who have passed away since last Memorial Day, and a flag burning ceremony to demonstrate the proper disposal of a worn American Flag.

Lisa Tompson reported that the reading of the scholarship applications is finished and a decision will be reported to Scituate High School on May 1st.  Thank you to Lisa and her readers for a job well-done.

Jack Stebe introduced our speaker for the evening, James Moriarity, Executive Director of The Boys' and Girls' Club in Marshfield.  Jim told us about his extensive background in The Boy' and Girls' Clubs and how he came to be The Executive Director here in Marshfield.  His credentials and experience are impressive and we welcome him to his new post.  Jim told us about existing and exciting new programs and the wonderful new facility.  Colorful brochures detailing summer programs and architectural drawings added to our understanding of the scope and influence of this wonderful organization.  Thank you, Jim, for your time on our behalf.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. and followed by a brief board meeting.

Respectfully submitted,
