The ever popular Jamestown Classic Bike Race will be held on Sunday, October 8th 2023.  This family friendly outdoor activity is open to the public and is a favorite among recreational bike riders as well as the more serious bike racers.  Come enjoy a morning of refreshing family fun with your friends and neighbors.  The course is a fun 19-mile timed and supported ride on the scenic roads of beautiful Conanicut Island.  Riders of all ages and ability levels are welcome to participate; you only need a bicycle, a helmet, and a desire to have lots of fun.  All riders will receive a finish time based on sex, age, and ability level; top 3 in all categories will receive medals. Riders will be started in groups based on the number of pre-registered participants.

 

This event is the main fundraising event for the Jamestown Rotary Club. In past years, these funds have been used to purchase wheelchairs for underprivileged individuals in Nicaragua, create a women's literacy project in Ghana, water-sanitation efforts in rural communities, purchase music chairs for the Jamestown Middle School, support for the local Boy Scouts, contribute toward research for a cure to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), maintenance of a clean water project in Cambodia, deploy educational technology to resource deprived countries around the world and many other noteworthy items.
