Meeting - October 1, 2015

It was wonderful to have Art Boggs play our national anthem and grace for us this morning.Thank you team one for breakfast.Guests were Mindy Anderson, Keri Pullyblank, Honorary Member Art Boggs and Tanis Henderson.

 

|Teresa gave us an update of her busy week.|She attended an Edmonton Eskimo game in the rain, played hockey for the first time, went combining with Shawn (had a feast in the field), and was interviewed for the Standard.To complete her week, she isheading to the district conference in Dawson Creek.

 

Harvest Gala:Planning is coming together.Members are reminded that they need to purchase a ticket to the gala if they are attending.Tickets can be picked up at Remax.

 

Allied Arts:Did you know that Allied Arts has been active in Vermilion for 40 years and that Art Boggs was a founding member?The music festival, allied arts performances, different dance groups and the new town murals have all been fostered by a very active volunteer Allied Arts group.After Art gave a history of the group, Keri outlined the performers for this year.New this year is the sponsorship of each performance.The new murals are a passion for Keri and she gave a little history behind each mural.For instance the blacksmith shop mural is copied from a famous Vermilion picture and the RCMP member is one of the first female recruits and a metis.Five draws of a pair of tickets were won by Jean, Teresa, Rebekka, Loretta and Barry.

 

Kerri thanked Kirby for housing The Street Piano.Kirby says “come and play|” anytime.
