- Telles is here! Former exchange student (11 years ago) is a computer engineer now, is here for a conference in Vancouver. Works for an American software company now, has done some extensive travelling with his job. Here until Sunday to visit! Telles credits his exchange year as building some strong characteristics he now possesses.
- Social tonight 7:00 pm at the Club room to visit with Telles!
- Youth Exchange Update: The District Level presented some changes in regards to training of counsellors and Criminal Record Checks. We do not have a 2018-2019 student. The club committee believes we need to look at host families and engagement and commitment from the club to seek out host families and participation in exchange. There is now a course for host families to take. As a club we need to decide as group effort “buy in” from all members not just a couple of members. Criminal Record checks are a must/need to happen, have with all club members. A list of things for the student to do BEFORE (hosted by club members or community members). Back to having the student speak once a week is also a suggestion from the committee. Do we need to look at more community involvement?
- Adventures in Citizenship: Malcolm Sader attended Adventures in Citizenship (A Rotary Adventure Camp) this past week in Ottawa. He presented to the club on his week there!
- Flag Project: Don’t forget to pick your flags up!
- Butz wedding bartending: We have been asked to bartend a wedding on July 14 at the Regional Centre. We will need 4 people for this event. Please let Dawn know ASAP if you would like to help out that night! (People are needed more through the beginning and dinner time and ticket selling)
