Introduction of AG Jason Whiting and received this year’s Rotary theme pins
DG Ingrid Neitsch- Ingrid began her presentation with highlights from Barry Rasin’s opening speech. Barry is this year’s RI president and his theme is Be the Inspiration. To provide the best possible experience to members, to grow, be useful and bring lasting change for the good of the world.
Ingrid shared and inspired us with her vision and goals for our district. Connect, collaborate, and create positive change. The heart of our clubs is our membership. We need to look after our membership. One of the goals of the district is to increase and engage membership. We are encouraged to be open to new types of memberships and new types clubs. We can increase membership by sharing success stories, increase awareness, and celebrating our youth programs: talk, tell, show. We can learn more about the foundation and how it helps us with our international goals. The district supports our leaders and will be providing more online modules for easier access to professional development. Another district goal is to become a Peacebuilding District. There are 35 Peace Building districts in the world. Promoting peace is one of the six areas of Rotary focus. A Peacebuilding district donated $25000 to the Peace Center, a Peace Builder club donates $500. Peace through Rotary. We are encouraged to connect at the up-coming District conference, October 18-20 in Edmonton. Reach: dream, connect, inspire.
