Treasurer Report-Eugene reported that we have sent the cheques to the schools and for the ShelterBox. The budget will also be changing because the Youth Exchange will not be happening.
Old Business
- Innovation-April Ockerman from our area has enrolled(we are under no funding obligation at this point). Laurel will touch base with April in the future to see if she will present to the club
- Town of Vermilion Conference Technology-the town is asking the club to fund approximately half of the cost which would be roughly $3000. The executive decided to not move forward with this at the present time and possibly review under next years’ budget
- Justin Machin Scooter Funding request-Laurel reached out to Justin to find out more info, she also received a letter from Larry Bingham from the Knights of Columbus(attached). The executive recommends giving $500 towards the purchase of a new scooter. Erwin Warkintin made a motion to give $500 towards the purchase of a new scooter for Justin Machin. All were in favor. None opposed. Motion carried
New Business
- You Take-Loretta updated the club and said they are hoping for a fall start-up. Our club commitment is to keep the building clean and organized.
- Garage Sale-Laurel spoke with Brenda and the committee is expecting to go ahead with the Garage sale in the spring. Tentative dates are Apr 7-9 or pr 28-30. We have to work around Easter and possibly a curling bonspiel. More details to follow
- Foundation-tabled
- Shelter Box-We usually donate $1000 annually to the Shelter Box organization, this amount was the cost for one box when our club first decided to support. The cost at this time for one box is $1200 and the executive discussed the possibility of increasing our donation by $200 annually to support the purchase of one box. Bruce MacDuff made a motion to increase the annual donation to the Shelter Box program by $200 per year from $1000 to $1200. Lisa Beveridge seconded. All in favor. None opposed. Motion carried.
- The Warkentin’s have become the first official “Family” Membership in our club under our new membership policies. They brought along a special guest with them, the latest addition to their family….newest Rotarian Seth Warkentin.
- Art Bogg’s Plaque-this Saturday Oct 8 at 1 pm we will be dedicating a plaque in honor of Art Boggs at the Rotary lookout. Members of the Boggs family will be attending as well. Please join other Rotarians if you are able to attend
