  6. There will not be an executive meeting the first week of April. We have the Garage sale gearing up so the time will be well used by members participating in the setup.
  7. Ski Pass – Check to see if anyone has the chance to use the Ski Pass. If you know of someone can use it please talk to Kirby. (the Pass will be in the Rotary Closet)
  8. Vermilion Play Development Presentation Darla Snow – Let us know what our donation we committed to last month to a child care facility in Murnam would be used for. They hope to be started by August; they want to have the ability to support a full range of age groups so that nobody is left out. Current Government funding model is restricted to Full time care under 5yrs. This does not work for people who need care for other ages, and those who only need childcare part time. This is a non-profit charity so it is eligible for a tax receipt. This is an important opportunity to support members of our communities in need, it allows people to work who would otherwise be unable due to child care needs. This can also help facilitate bringing people into our communities that need those supports. Darla’s presentation was followed by a cheque presentation for $2,500.
  9. Garage Sale Update from Scott – Bruce will be starting on April 3rd setting up Tables etc. That first weekend we will not be taking community donations. If you have some of your own stuff that weekend please contact Darlene. The next weekend will be the community intake. Wednesday the 3rd Bruce needs volunteers to help pick up Tables and Sweep out the Butler Building. He will also need help hauling stuff from our various stash points so help would be appreciated. Darlene and Loretta will be going in on the Friday to put coverings on tables and fine tune the set up. If you have a chance they could use some help. For the Garage Sale appreciation we will do it like last year and have a BBQ at the Oven on the 25th of April.
  10. Loretta’s Corner – From 1957 Standard. Concerns about being able to afford cigarettes for 25 cents a pack, groceries for $20/week and minimum wage getting to be 1$/hour. It was like the author was reading our minds 60 some years in the future!
