  1. Airport Advisory Committee: Geoff Hancock presented on behalf of the Airport Advisory Committee. Shawn J; Erwin W.; and Bruce M. are also part of this committee.
Airport was established back in the 1940’s and in 1976 it received a paved landing strip.
 -in need new pavement for the landing strip. Crack filling is needed on the strip now.
-private aircraft are based at our airport
-ours is one of 4 airports in all of Alberta that is located within the community, most are located out of the community.
-Emergency services are the most important usage of this airport
            At least 47 Medivac flights landed in 2024. Over the last 3 years a total of 130.
            This also keeps our ground ambulances within our community
-GPS approach system:
This system would allow planes to land with a cloud ceiling of 500 feet; right now, the cloud ceiling for landing is 2500 feet. The GPS system would help with allowing Medivac to fly in more often. Everything is ready to go with this system it just needs to be published. Neo Natal teams can also come in with a fixed wing plane.
            -The GPS system will also help businesses coming to our town.
-Cost of the system is start up $12,000, first year $4000 second year $4000 and third goes $9000. Geoff flies a jet out of Lloydminster and does about 100 approaches a year and only goes to airports that have the GPS system. $15000 start up would help with the start up cost and first year maintenance.
-committee is also working on getting support from the county and town.
 
  1. Youth Camp Update: Lorne presented that we have 3 kids for Ryle and Rypen camps that want to go.
Motion: Increase the budget to $1500 for 3 students to go each camp for this year only.
Bruce made the motion and Scott seconded.
