Club Meeting June 8, 2017

 Vermilion Rotary Meeting – June 8, 2017

  1. Happy belated birthday Ken (June 6).
  2. Sulina Clennett Update:  Sulina has been asked to be a counsellor at RYPEN, to be on the District Committee and to join a Rotoact Club.  All because she went to one camp!!!
  3. Funding Request from Vermilion Bike Rodeo:  Moved by Craig Brown and seconded by Rebekah Hiebert that Rotary donate $725 in support of the Vermilion Bike Rodeo.  Carried.
  4. Funding Request from Vermilion Minor Ball:  Moved by Justin Thompson and seconded by Kirby Whitlock that Rotary donate $500 to Vermilion Minor Ball in support of their Provincial Tournament.  Carried.
  5. Committees:  Justin will be building a list of committee chairs and  members.  If you would like your  name to stand on a committee or be removed from a committee,  please update the charts in the club room.  Due to holiday plans, Lorne is stepping down as parade float chair.  Also, Justin would like to resurrect the social committee and has some neat ideas.  Contact him for more information. 
  6. Coffee Tin:  Brenda has advised that any donations to the coffee tin from April 1st to the end of June will receive matching points towards  a Paul Harris.  She will accept your donations or help you make the donation on line. 
  7. District Newsletter:  Dawn advised that curling information is in the new newsletter.  Also you can register for the 2018 Toronto  International Convention at a reduced rate from June 24-27  .  The price increases in steps until the convention. 
  8. Congratulations to Dawn for achieving all her Presidential Citations. 
  9. Gus has arrived home safely.   Thank you to everyone who was involved in his Canadian Visit. 
  10. Bruce is hosting a work bee on June 24th at the Rotary Fair Booth, 9AM.  According to Bruce, he needs younger members to crawl the ladder as they put up supporting beams for the new awning.
