  1. Hockey Game Invite: The U9 girls’ team that helped with the cookies sales for Haying in the 30’s is having a wrap up hockey game and has invited the Rotary club to attend. Feb 23/2025 at 11:15am at the arena. There will a thank you card to be presented to the Rotary and a picture to be taken for the social media.
 
  1. Purple Pinky Day: Margaret McCormack is taking over the Purple Pinky, which will be taking place in March.
 
  1. Blanket Warmer: Vermilion Lions is coordinating a joint press and photo op.
 
  1. Rotary Clubs 70th Anniversary: Steak supper at the Legion on April 10th.
 
  1. AED Request from the Vermilion Soccer Association: Vermilion Soccer is requesting to have an AED put in the soccer shack for the summer months for the soccer season.
Motion: Vermilion Rotary club will purchase an AED for the soccer associations soccer shack.

Discussion: Discussed the moving of the AED to a different location during the off season to the curling rink for example as a partnership. Dawn will talk to the soccer association and get back to us.
 
Motion has been tabled by Rebekah W. until we hear back from the soccer association.
 
  1. Butler Building:
Motion: Vermilion Rotary Club to give the Vermilion Ag Society $5000 plus for the lights to go into the Heritage Building. The Vermilion Ag Society will pay $2000 and we are to pay the difference. Approximate cost is just over $7000. (Motion made by Bruce M and Darlene B seconded)
Discussion amongst club members took place.
Voted on and motion was carried.
 
  1. Focus Society for Support Services Funding Request
Vermilion Transportation Circuit:
Motion: Vermilion Rotary Club will support Vermilion Focus Society with $3500.00 for the first six months.
Seconded: Mary Lee Prior
Motion: Carried
 
  1. Tehran Update: Any club members can help with the Tehran family by sending money through Bevin to help with their rent. The dad is going back to Argentina early so he can start working (he will be finishing his schooling by correspondence) and the rest of the family will be returning once Sophia has graduated.
 
  1. Donors Recognition at Lakeland College: March 18th donor and student recognition invitation at the Vermilion Regional Center. Dawn has details.
 
  1. Sargent at Arms: donations are going to Food Bank for the month of February
 
  1. Back in the 80’s & Fun Facts: Loretta enlightened us on some of the passed events and facts found in the Vermilion Standard.
