District Conference Update from Julie Mulligan
Hello District 5370 Rotarians,
Only a few months until Drayton Valley's District Conference May 13-16! We know you're getting antsy to register and ask for just a few more days to get the kinks out of the new registration program that the District has adopted. I want to assure you that our plans are quite advanced and we have a great program lined up for you and one that is filled with informative and interesting sessions and fun entertainment!
Our website guru is away for a few more days and as soon as she is back, we'll have all the details posted on our website which will be linked to the District. There are a few specifics listed below that need to be addressed. If you have any other questions, please contact Chairperson Julie Mulligan at 780-542-1204, julie.mulligan@telus.net
ACCOMODATIONS We have secured rooms at 5 hotels in Drayton Valley to ensure that we have plenty of space available. Until our website is posted early next week, you can view the hotels at draytonvalleyhotels.worldweb.com
We have rooms at the Holiday Inn, Ramada, Lakeview Inn, and Super 8. Service Plus will be the host hotel for the Exchange Students. We're doing things a bit different this year. Instead of contacting the hotel directly, you must contact our Accommodations Chair, Ray Labossiere at 780-542-9122, gm@super8draytonvalley.com Ray will book you the room of your choice and will help you find what you're looking for. Camping is also available in the same area as the conference.
YOUTH / FAMILIES We are attempting to arrange for childcare and youth activities. Because this is a new concept, we're unsure how many of you are actually interested. & nbsp; I will need to know the age of your children. If you plan on bringing your children, please email me ASAP so that we know whether this is an idea that will take flight. If we receive no communication of interest, we will not carry on with the program so it is vital that you respond.
SPOUSAL PROGRAM We think we've got an excellent spousal program lined up. Details will be on our website.
ROTARY IDOL You may have heard that we are going to have our very own Rotary Idol. Get ready and recruit your very best singers! This is going to be a fun and exciting event! Details will be on our website.
Thank you for your patience. I am 99.9% sure that we will have the website with registration up and running by Wednesday, February 17. As chairperson of 2010 Conference, Rotary Revolution; the Future is in Your Hands, I promise you a great conference!
