Rotary meeting

 

  1. Call to Order, O Canada, Prayer   (O Lord and Giver of all good, we thank Thee for our daily food. May Rotary Friends and Rotary Ways help us to serve Thee all our days. Amen)

 

  1. Welcome Guests: Caroline MacCulley, Candice Anderson of the Good Life Institute.

 

  1. Thanks to Team 1 for Breakfast; also a big thank you to Mike and all the teams for the flag pick up

  1. Correspondence/Reports/Updates from Committees:
  • Chair meetings sign up sheet: Jean passed around the sign up sheet for chairing regular club
  • Hot Lunch Volunteers: Dawn passed around the sign up sheet for Hot Lunch sign up (at Vermilion Elementary School) we are committed for the third Tuesday of every month, from October to May. The time requirement is from 11:30 am-1:00 pm, and the days we volunteer they feed the Rotarians lunch.
  • Thank you: Thank you card from Brenda Lee for support during her mom’s passing.
  • September 28 - 30, the District Conference- Fort McMurray http://www.rotary5370.org/ speakers such as; Olympic Medalist Jon Montgomery, outstanding Rotarian Sean Hogan, Rotary Leader Ann Lee Hussey, Fort McMurray Wildfire fighting leader Darby Allen and Dollywood Foundation President David Dotson. Also the Rise Against Hunger as we package meals together as a Rotary District.
  • GoFundMe request from theRotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona in partnership with Rotary Club of Pretoria: deficit for New Hope School in South Africa - Jean will bring to the Executive on Monday evening.

 

  1. Speaker:  The Good Life Institute: Candice Anderson - Art in the Park this weekend September 9, 2017 - 11-4 pm at the Community Heritage Park. There is free food and the opportunity to participate in some Art projects!  Savour is in November, the annual wine, beer and scotch tasting at the Regional Centre, The Race of Vermilion - on March 17. There will be a 50 team limit. Taste of Vermilion is at the end of June (Canada Day).

 

  1. Executive Meeting: September 11, 2017 at 6:30 pm at Prairie Place (please send Jean any agenda items)

 

  1. Next week meeting: Team 2 for breakfast:  Business Meeting chaired by Rebekah (Jean away out of town for work) Also Coordinated by Tannis H.  for a Special Guest Carol Devereaux to induction of  Dawn and Craig into District Paul Harris Society.

 

  1. Cash Raffle Draw:  ($150/100) – winners: Glenn Flanders - $150 = Dean and Cindy Usenik - $100

 

  1. Sergeant- at Arms report – its a fine free day!!!!!! (Bruce is away!!!)
