Club Meeting - September 23, 2010
Posted by Dave Dyck
The meeting was chaired by Ken Smith
Jean reported that the Shelterbox for Pakistan Relief fundraiser had raised $2000 from the community so far. The Rotary contribution of $1,000 will be added to this and the total will then be matched by the Canadian Government.
You will also want to go to the Club Website, in the Photo Journals tab, click on Cuernavaca Photos. There are photos of the items they purchased with the money we sent.
Art reported that they had a good turnout at the Bingo on Sep 17.
On September 30th we will have our regualr morning meeting as well as an evening club social. Dean updated us on the plans for the social and reported that a strong turnout is expected.
We look forward to having the Tanzanian delegation, who are here on a project with Lakeland College, attend our meeting on October 7th. Bruce, Glen and Scott volunteered to provide breakfast that morning.
The tickets for Octoberfest are now available. Tickets are $35 each or $240 for a table of 8.
Wishing all the farmers a safe and prosperous harvest!
See you Thursday morning!
